Anambra State Government Lands $400,000 Partnership Deal With UNIDO

Anambra state Government has signed a Trust Agreement with United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, UNIDO, for the implementation of the Learning Initiative For Entrepreneurs, LIFE programme in the state.

The event took place at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia where Governor Willie Obiano signed on behalf of the State government.

In the partnership programme which will be implemented in 41 Senior Secondary Schools across the three senatorial districts of the state, UNIDO would contribute 400,000 US dollars while the State Government would contribute 150, 000 US dollars.

The Representative of UNIDO to the ECOWAS and West African Regional Director of the Organization, Mr Jean Bakoli who signed the deal unbehalf of the UNIDO, stated that  under the LIFE programme, 200 teachers in the selected schools will be trained on how to upgrade the skills of the young students, entrepreneurs and Small and Medium Enterprises to be able to create and develop businesses through IT skills.

According to him, their choice of Anambra was the efforts of the state government towards transforming the State's Education Sector.
