Anambra State Governor Signs N200 Million Health Insurance Scheme
Anambra state government is set to begin the Implementation of the Health Insurance Scheme in the state.
This was made possible as the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano signed the State Health Insurance Scheme Bill into law.
The state marped out N200 million for the scheme.
According to the Governor, who spoke at Amichi in Nnewi South Council Area of the state, during the flag off of a medical mission sponsored by an indigene of the community, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, the Bill was signed into law immediately it was passed by the State House of Assembly.
Obiano also revealed that a special committee has been set up to advise government on how best to implement the scheme.
He noted that his government will provide the initial Two hundred million naira required to kick-start the scheme before it reaches out to wealthy Ndi Anambra to invest in the scheme.
The Governor later conducted inspection round the centre where there is an ongoing surgeries of various kinds by over forty medical doctors and nurses on the mission.
