Arewa Youths Allegedly Begin Campaign To Re-Arrest Nnamdi Kanu As They Meet With Eze-Igbo In The North
The Coalition of Arewa Youths have met with the Igbo traditional rulers (Eze Ndigbo) in the core Northern states for an indoor meeting.
The meeting which is not unconnected with the withdrawal of the quit notice the Arewa youths issued to the Igbo community residing in the north, yesterday, Thursday.
Recall the Arewa youths had stirred tension and heated up the polity after they declared quit notice on the Igbo living in the north follwing the total success of the May 30th Sit-At-Home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to remember Biafrans murdered during the Biafra-Nigeria civil war.
The declaration by the Arewa youths had drawn fierce criticisms from all quarters across the country that many prominent persons including the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo and Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai ordered for their arrests.
The Arewa youths who have now withdrawn the order, have insisted that Nnamdi Kanu must be re-arrested by the Nigerian government and that the idea of Biafra be silenced henceforth.
They have allegedly begun plots to ensure that Nnamdi Kanu returned to the prison.
Recall the youths had a closed door meeting with President Buhari shortly after his arrival from his long medical trip in London.
With their meeting with Eze-Igbo in the North, suggestions are there that the youths have a grand plan to stir division amongst Igbos, wane the support Nnamdi Kanu enjoys from them and expose him for possible re-arrest.
Whatever the intentions are, we await the outcome of their meeting.
