The Ozubulu community in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State were this morning thrown into mourning as a gun man walked into St Philip's Catholic Church and started shooting sporadically, killing 11 and injuring 18 persons

On hearing the sad development, Governor Obiano stormed the scene to ascertain the level of damage and sympathize with the people. 

Court Sentences Police Officer, Two Others To Death Over The Aluu Killing

Justice Letam Nyordee of a High Court in Port Harcourt has sentenced three out of the seven people facing trial in the killing of four students of the University of Port Harcourt popularly called Aluu4 to death.

Those sentenced to death include, ex-Sergeant Lucky Orji, Ikechukwu Luis Amadi and David Chinasa Ogbonda.

Reports say that the other four suspects facing trial; Abiodun Yusuf, Joshua Ekpe, Abang Cyril, and John Ayu were discharged and acquitted for lack of overwhelming evidence.

Igbo Young Man Arrested For Naming His Dog Buahari Released

Nwafor Igbo, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe aka Joachim Iroko, who was arrested for naming his pet dog Buhari was this morning set free by Sango Ota Chief Magistrate Court in Ogun State.

Iroko also known came to prominence after he was arrested on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Hausa section of Ketere Market, Sango-Ota, when one of his neighbours from the North, complained that he named the dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

The suspect was first taken to Sango Police Station, from where he was transferred to state command headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Man Hangs Himself After Confessing To Killing His Brother In Anambra

This is the case for one Mazi Ikeoha Onwukaike who committed suicide after confessing to killing his own brother.

As shared by Amarachukwu Ezika, a Facebook user, Mazi Ikeoha confessed to killing Chief Francis Sunday Onwukaike his brother (supposedly younger).

Chief Francis who is aged 65 is scheduled to be buried on the 28th of July, Thursday was aged 65 in Oba Village, Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Police Declare Kidnap Kingpin Wanted After Shooting A Police Officer In Imo State

A suspected kidnap/armed robbery kingpin in the state, Ekene Amadi, has been declared wanted by Imo state Police Command for allegedly shooting a police Inspector, Oliver Nwaba.

According to Andrew Enwerem, police spokesperson in the state, the victim, Nwaba was shot during an attack by Amadi’s gang on policemen at Nipping Point at Nkaraha Junction, along Owerri-Port Harcourt Road.

According to the statement, the 26-year-old Amadi, who is on the run, had earlier been apprehended by the police on May 22, 2017, arraigned in court and remanded in Owerri prison.

Reports this Monday morning say Suicide bombers have attacked Dalori 1 and 2 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps.

The confirmation however, came from Abdulkadir ibrahim, Information Officer, NEMA North East,

He noted that around midnight, “two suicide bombers (a male and female) detonated their improvised explosive device at Dalori 1 IDPs camp leading to the death of three IDPs while seventeen others were injured”.

“Another incident occurred at Dalori 2 IDP camp where a suicide bomber was intercepted leading to the death of the attacker.

Nwafor Igbo, Makuko Chukwuku Muolokwu was nabbed peddling drugs as City Crime Branch (CCB) officials, on Thursday, July 20th raided a place he stayed in Bengaluru, India.

Chukwuku who was arrested a team of officials based on a tip off they got, was waiting for his clients at Bili Shivale bus stop at Kothanuru.

Igbo son, Peters Akann Obi two other Nigerian National, Soloman Adanegbe  and Prince Braimah-Oboh who posed as bankers, financial gurus and potential love interests have been jailed after swindling people out of £1m. 

They were said to have scammed their victims across the world of cash, which was laundered and stored in accounts in Greater Manchester.

The trio were jailed at Manchester Crown Court after being found guilty by a jury following a four-week trial.
