Dr Alex Ekwueme Is Still Alive, Not In Any London Hospital -- Family
Contrary to rumour making round that nwafor Igbo, Second Republic Vice President, Sir Alex Ekwueme has died in London hospital, report from his immediate family can confirm that he is alive and recuperating.
Dr. Ekwueme had collapsed in his home in Enugu Saturday around 2:00 am in his house at Independence Layout, Enugu state shortly after he turned 85 and was immediately rushed to the Memphys hospital, in its Intensive Care Unit.
He was said to have been in coma afterwards.
However, contrary to reports making round the social media, immediate family members of the Elder statesman as well as the Chairman, Editorial Board of the Authority Newspaper, Uche Ezechukwu confirmed that he is still alive and attended to in a specialist Hospital in Enugu by his doctors.
He said: “Dr. Ekwueme has moved from a stage of unconsciousness to a state where he now receives visitors, sits up and eats.”
According to the family member who spoke to Dr. Amaechi Anakwe, the anchor of Political Platform, a Raypower Fm programme, the Octogenarian is yet to be flown abroad against the now circulating news that he is in London.
He dismissed the news as a mere hoax and unfortunate.
