UNN Shuns JAMB Cut-Off Mark, Releases Its Own And Post UTME Date

First Nigerian Indigenous University, University of Nigeria (Nsukka and Enugu Campuses), UNN, has set its cut-off mark at 200 as usual. 

This is after the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, had set its cut-off mark for the 2017/208 at 120.

According to a statement the school management, applicants to the school are advised to "continue to check the school's website for further information."

With the exclusion of Ebonyi state, the South Eastern (Igbo) states topped the 2017 May/June West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination, WASSCE.

Umu Igbo who pulled the top grades in the crucial O’ level examination which saw four South Eastern states sit comfortably on the top 10 log.

Abia state took the first slot as the state with the best result, Imo state came fourth, while Anambra and Enugu states took the 6th and 9th positions respectively.

Ada Igbo, Nnedimkpa Nnadi Susan came out tops in her first degree as she emerged the best graduating student in Engineering from covenant university with first class honours.

She graduated from the male dominated department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a 4.93 GPA, which set her ahead of the 19 other first class holders from the same department. 

The list showed 20 first class holders graduating from the same department and Nnedimkpa with 10 other umu Igbo dominated the list.

The teenage girl who came out as the overall best student from Shalom Academy, Nsukka, was said to have won numerous Academic awards in competitions she represented her schools.

Tension heightens as Fulani herdsmen thronged into a secondary school in Anambra state just days after a herd of cattle owned by them invaded a primary school in Edo State, which caused unrest in the school and the students and teachers had to force their way out from the windows.

Just yesterday, Monday, June 12 at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, the Fulani Herdsmen invaded the school premises with their cattle, disrupting the mid-term test of the Primary and Secondary school pupils and students.

7 Not 10,00 Candidates Were Arrested In Anambra State - JAMB Declares

Contrary to falsehood peddled around that 10,000 candidates that sat for the Joint Admissions Matriculations examination in Anambra state were arrested for allegedly indulging in malpractices, JAMB has declared that only seven (7) people were arrested.

JAMB coordinator in Anambra state, Mrs Lynda Aja-Nwachukwu, said the true position is that only seven people were arrested by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

She, however, said that the examination in the state was a huge success and that plans were on to build on it to achieve more successes.
