First Degree And HND To Be Equal As A Bill Abolishing Discrimination Between The Two Passes Second Reading

A Bill for an Act to abolish the discrimination between First Degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) in same profession passed second reading in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

The bill, which was sponsored by Rep. Ali Isa (Gombe-PDP) and Rep. Edward Pwajok (Plateau-PDP), seeks to prohibit the existing dichotomy between both certificates.

Contributing to the debate, Pwajok said a research he carried out on both certificates, showed that the discrimination had no moral justification.

Chimezie pulled a total of 3,454 votes while his closest opponent, an American Ben Delbick had 1,189 votes.

Igbo young man Uzoma Miracle Chinonso made himself, every of his relatives and friends as well as our Igbo identity proud as he bagged the Overall Best Graduating Student of the University of Port Harcourt Award.

Chinonso graduated with grand breaking  C.G.P.A of 4.82 from the department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, faculty of science.

He partook in the UNIPORT'S convocation of March 21st, 2017.

Michael Okpara University Students Protest Against Federal Govt Policy

Students of the College of Management Sciences (COLMAS) of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia, on Thursday  protested against the Federal Government’s policy scrapping seven courses in the college.

The affected courses are Accounting, Banking and Finance, Marketing, Economics, Entrepreneurial Studies, Industrial Relations and Business Administration.

The students protested to the office of the Dean of the college, Prof John Ihendinihu, and called on the management of the  university to initiate steps toward the restoration of the courses.
