Did You Know This About Umu-Igbo - Tony Kanu

DID YOU KNOW?

1. The highest PROPERTY a Northerner may 'acquire' in Igboland is 'a kiosk & a mat'.

2. The highest PROPERTY a Yoruba civil-servant may 'acquire' in Igboland is 'a rented 3-bedroom apartment' or single room a.k.a "face me, i face you". Immediately he is able to get a transfer, he scampers off Igboland with every pin that belongs to him.

3. The highest properties some other Non-Igbos may acquire in Igboland are scarcely located and are of no tangible value. That is, if they have any at all.

The Wisdom Of Language Preservation Between Yoruba People And Ndi-Igbo

For everyday and everywhere they are in the world; at all times and in all conditions, they greet themselves thusly "Ekaaro, ekason, ekale, odaaro". STRICTLY IN THEIR LANGUAGE! When others are in their land, they also learn to do same with them. Don't forget they also borrowed the Western Education together with its language, English. But they understand the politics of culture which its sole driver is language. Result is: They feel safe from generation to generation, unperturbed about the further preservation of their heritage.

Igbo Fact File....Mmuta Nazo Ndu

The Igbo people embraced the Western education/mannerism so much that it propelled them and gave them a leap. But it intoxicated them into losing their own heritage. There's always a downside of things, by nature. Chinụa Achebe had illustrated this in his timeless documents, Things Fall Apart and Arrow of God. Western Education is good but losing yourself for Western Education is suicidal. The whole of Asia comes off as different from Africa when it comes to embracing foreign things to advance the ones they have. Heck, not Africa. Barely the Igbo people!

Igbo Soundbite Of The Day- "Nigerian Warped Sense"

Nemo dat quod non habet is the latin phrase for "You cannot give what you don't have." And if you have it, you give to your children first. Even Christ said so, "You cannot give the kid's food to dogs." So you give your kids first, then the dogs.

Now, if Northern Nigeria is so under developed despite the number of years they have controlled federal revenue, how come Nigerians still expect federal development from Northern politicians? What have they done to uplift the North that you want them to replicate in your Southern state?

Have you been so angered when your fellow nwafor comes to you headtsrong and insistent on his rightfulness in engaging our language with so much unforgiveable blunder? Some of them are even too proud in their self-lowering ignorance, for mis-spelling and committing heavy errors against our language which the British had originated with their inability to pronounce our words correctly.
