Social Media Giant, Fcebook, has created an Airtificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm that monitors people that may be contemplating to commit suicide.

This initiative is coming at the backdrop of allegations that Social networks have been providing a forum for those planning to commit suicide, with a number of people livestreaming their suicide attempts

The AI looks out for typical patterns in social media posts that mark out a potential suicide.

UNN Lecturers To Be Promoted Based On The Opinion Of Students

A memo from the office of the Vice Chancellor entitled "Students' Valuation" communicates that the promotion of UNN lecturers is subjected to the analysis (opinion) of UNN students of their performances. 

It is therefore, clear that those who fail the evaluation test which commences in the First Semester of the 2016/2017 session, will not be promoted.

UNN, Others Benefit From Shell Sabbatical Research Programme

Uniersity of Nigeria, Nsukka has been announced as one of the 19 Academics-Beneficiaries of Shell Sabbatical Research Programme as revealed to News Agency of Nigeria, by Shell's spokesperson, Bamidele Odugbesan.

Other Universities in line as beneficiaries include University of Benin, University of Ibadan, Niger Delta University, University of Ilorin and the University of Lagos. Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ahmadu Bello University, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, University of Calabar etc.

FUTO Students Shutdown School In Protest Against Schol Fees Hike

Tension was reported to have engulfed the Federal University Of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) community as students took to streets protesting exorbitant increments in school fees by the management of the institution.

According to sources from the university, the protest which has led to the closure of the institution till further notice saw to the damage of University properties like  Senate building, ICT Centre, and Diamond Bank sited inside the school premises.
