The pictures above were taken today in Umuahia, Abia state showing some female members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, giving free medical care to community members.

This is coming days after some youths of IPOB also, carrried out a community service in Umuahia, where they helped to repair damaged portions of some roads in the Abia state capital.

Anambra State Governor Signs N200 Million Health Insurance Scheme

Anambra state government is set to begin the Implementation of the Health Insurance Scheme in the state.

This was made possible as the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano signed the State Health Insurance Scheme Bill into law.

The state marped out  N200 million for the scheme.

According to the Governor, who spoke at Amichi in Nnewi South Council Area of the state, during the flag off of a medical mission sponsored by an indigene of the community, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, the Bill was signed into law immediately it was passed by the State House of Assembly.

One Dies Of Lassa Fever, 65 Others Placed On Watch In Anambra State

Fresh Fears spring in Anambra State following the confirmation by the government that a nursing student has died of Lassa Fever, while 65 others are placed on surveillance. While addressing newsmen in Awka on Monday, the Director of Public Health, State Ministry of Health, Dr Emmanuel Okafor, revealed that the deceased was a student in one private nursing school in Nkpor, Idemili North.

History Is Made In Anambra As A Local Hospital Successfully Conducts Open Heart Surgery On A Little Boy

Dr Joe Nwilo heart center at the Saint Joseph's hospital in Adazi Nnukwu, Anaocha local government area of Anambra state has reportedly conducted an open heart surgery on a 6-year-old boy, one of its kind in the country.

The little boy identified as Solomon Chinweuba, had been diagnosed with heart problems, and was operated on by a team of both Indian and Nigerian heart surgeons at the hospital.

Solomon's mother identified as Mrs Delphine Joseph, said they were sent to the heart center from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

Tears Flow As Ada-Igbo, Who Received A Message She Would Die In Surgery, Dies A Day After The Surgery

Nwa-Ada Igbo, Onyinyechi Flourish Enyiazu has been reported dead a day after she appreciated God on her Facebook page for successful surgery she did. This however, followed a revelation from her Facebook friend, John Kpoobari Diidi in which John told her that he had dreamt she died after a surgery.

John was reported to have admonished Onyinyechi to pray to avert the tragedy, stating he had already prayed for her.

Igbo Doctor Based In The US Arrested In Texas For Alleged Assault On Two Women

Nwafor Igbo, Dr. Donald Okechukwu Ozumba, 44, an orthopedic surgeon, has been arrested by McKinney police, Texas on suspicion of sexual assault on two female patients while they were under his care and faces two charges of sexual assault, according to court records.

He was arrested Friday, March 31, and booked at the Collin County Jail, where his bail was set at $50,000.
