Nigeria's Super Eagles and Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho took to his Instagram page to share a delightful moment with both his followers and fans after his club's first away win at Swansea today.

Leicester City beat Swansea 2-1 at Liberty Stadium, the home stadium of Swansea to claim maximum three points. 

Iheanacho who didn't score in the encounter took to his Instagram to share his joy as he dressed in his Leicester City team outfit with an Igbo traditional cap commonly won by a title holder (Ichie).

Rochas Okorocha Slams Nnamdi Kanu Again, Says "Kanu Is Inconsequential"

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has taken a swipe at the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, calling him a mad man.

Rochas Okorocha said this during an interview with the Sun news where he also stated that he would support president Muhammadu Buhari should the President contest in the 2019 Presidential election.

“These young men seeking relevance as a livelihood and to tell you how daft some people can be, any mad man can just rise one day and lead a senseless agitation and he’d get followers.

Buhari Approves Payment Of Pension To Pardoned Retired Biafra Police Personnel

President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the payment of pension for police officers who received presidential pardon during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s first regime in 2000 after they served in the Biafran Police during the Nigeria Civil war.

This was contained in a statement by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) which stated that 162 officers will be paid.

Also, 57 Next of Kin of those who are dead already who not been paid their death benefits will be paid in the first batch which will begin in Enugu on Friday the 20th of October, 2017.

South East Governors, Ministers And Ohaneze Ndigbo In Closed-Door Meeting With Buhari

According to reports from the state house, Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari is in an ongoing closed-door meeting with the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Governors and Ministers from the South East.

The agenda of the meeting is yet unconfirmed at the time of this report. 

According to the Sun, the governors of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu, Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwuani, Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi and the Imo state deputy governor, Eze Madumere are all in attendance.

IPOB: President-General Of Ohaneze Ndigbo Wants To Use Us To Bargain For Vice-Presidency In 2019

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has stated that it has fallen out of favour with the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dr Nnia Nwodo because it refused to be used as a bargaining power by Nwodo for a Vice President slot in the 2019 presidential election.

 

According to a press statement entitled ‘why we fell out with Nwodo,’ signed and released by the publicity secretary of the group, Mr Emma Powerful today, Wednesday, in Awka, Anambra state, IPOB gave eight reasons why it decided to shun the earlier agreement being reached by Nnamdi Kanu and Igbo elders.

Buhari, South East Governors Pushing Us To Take Up Arms In Our Agitation-- IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the leadership of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu, today, Monday raised alarm that President Muhammadu Buhari together with the governors of the south eastern states was forcing them to take up arms in their struggle for the actualisation of Biafra despite their non-violent stance ever since.

The Independent National Broadcast of President Muhammadu Buhari has continued to draw wide condemnation.

Among the notable voices who have given strong reactions against the speech is the former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili.

Ada-Igbo, Oby, took to her twitter handle to express her disappointment with President Buhari's speech.

She noted that the speech does not express tenets of nation building and at best divisive and lacks inspiration.

Nnamdi Kanu's Younger Brother Speaks For The First Time After Army Raid, Reveals Next Agenda For IPOB

Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has that IPOB would not backout from its agitation for Biafra Indepencdence.

According to him, IPOB is non-violent and will continue with that approach.

He said: “Freedom is not given by the oppressor; it is seized by the oppressed. As long as what we do is in line with international laws, we will continue with the struggle (for an independent state of Biafra)”, he told Punch.

The Manager Director of Capital Oil and business mogul, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah is in an ongoing closed door meeting with delegates of the caucus of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

According to the Special Adviser of Anambra state governor on Social Media, Ifeanyi Aniagho, the meeting which is reportedly anchored on coorperation between the Nnewi born business mogul and politician and the APGA party, is taking place at Ifeanyi Ubha's home, in Nnewi.

Former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi has stated that the present militarisation of the South East to clampdown on the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, would not end the agitation by the group. 

According to him, the present agitation for Biafra which has seemingly gained much intensity was a fallout of bad leadership.

Amnesty International Cautions Nigeria Army On Clashes With IPOB, Warns It Is Investigating Right Abuses

has said that it is investigating the clash between the Nigerian Army and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in

Umuahia, Abia state from last week’s Sunday.

Amnesty International (AI) has cautioned the Nigerian Army over clashes with the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, iin the ongoing Operation Python Dance II in the South East.

According to to the AI, it is investigating the incident and will document all abuses. 

Nigerian Military Declares IPOB Terrorists Organisation

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has declared the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organisation.

The declaration which was made today, Friday, as the Army begins the Operation Python Dance II in the South East was contained in a statement by Major General, John Enenche, Director Defence Information.

It read “after due professional analysis and recent developments, it has become expedient, to notify the general public that; the claim by IPOB actors that the organization is non violent is not true.

Operation Python Dance: South East Governors, Ike Ekweremadu, GOC Of 82 Division, Others Meet

The governors of the South East, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, GOC of 82 Division, Elders and other Security Chiefs led by the chairman of the South East Governors' forum, David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi state are currently holding a meeting in Enugu state government House.

Details of the meeting is yet to be revelaed. However, the meeting was called over the current unrest ongoing in the South East after the Nigerian Army invaded the hometown of Nnamdi Kanu in Umuahia in preparation for their Operation Python Dance II.
