President Buhari Cancels Tomorrow's Federal Executive Meeting To Allow Ministers Enjoy Sallah Holiday
President Muhammadu Buhari has officially canceled the meeting of the Federal Executive Council Meeting (FEC) scheduled to hold tomorrow.
The information was given out by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed today, Wednesday.
He said President Buhari canceled the meeting because the Eid-el-KABIR holiday deprived the ministers enough time to prepare the documents for the meeting.
In a statement issued in Kano on Tuesday, the Minister said: “the two-day public holidays declared for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations left little or no time to prepare for the weekly meeting.”
It could be recalled that last week when the meeting held, the Federal Government approved the Mambilla hydro project that will be handled by a consortium of Chinese companies at a cost of $5.79bn.
Recall last week the meeting was canceled on grounds that Buhari would receive the probe report on the allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke.
